Three Little Ducks Went Swimming One Day - Part 2

Last week, my What?Wednesday took a bit of a different turn.  I ditched my post-it notes in favour of a tangible ‘thing’ for Joe Public to look out for and I released three rubber ducks back into the wild. Each one had a number and a label, asking people who found them to move them on to another location for someone else to find, and so their journey continues.  A duckie jailbreak, if you will.  It started at Cheddar Gorge, in Somerset.
Duck 1 was left on the roof of a car.  I picked it because it had a car seat inside, so I assumed the owner of the car knows a small person, and hence might be my ‘target market.’  I heard from the man who found it that night to say he had my duckie, but nothing since.  I hope the duck is in the process of being found again.
Duck 2 is my current success story!  He has crossed not one but two county borders and was last heard of in St Austell in Cornwall.  I left him outside the Cheddar Gorge visitor centre and the four year old boy of a lovely honeymooning couple found him.  He will be left somewhere new this week. (the duck, not the little boy, that is!)
Duck 3 is still Missing In Action.  He had already gone by the time we drove back down through the Gorge, so I’m hoping we’ll have news of him soon.
This week, there are three more ducks on the loose.  I've opted for central London this time, about as far removed from leafy Somerset as possible.  Ducks 4 and 5 were set free in Jamie’s Bar in Bishopsgate, and Duck 6 was last seen travelling in the back of a black cab.  Who knows where they’ll end up!  Send news if you find one!
I'm so excited about my quackers adventure, I've even set them up with their own page, so you can check here for updates on where in the world my ducks have been.

Three Little Ducks Went Swimming One Day . . .

Much excitement in the Chatty Baby house today!  It’s What? Wednesday and Mammasaurus launched Percy Pinecone yesterday for her entry this week . We agree that leaving a tangible ‘thing’ for people to find might be the way forward.  So here goes!
Mummy was casting her mind back to the days when globe-trotting gnomes made the papers with tales of sending postcards home from around the world and so, today, we have launched three little ducks out into the big, wide world!
Each has instructions to leave it somewhere, with a photo, and I’ll keep track of their progress here.  In fact, I’m so hoping they’ll take off, so to speak, that I might even give them their own page. I’ll post updates on their progress and see where this little ducky jailbreak takes us.  Imagine if one made it across The Pond!  Perhaps I’m thinking about running before walking, but hey, Mummy always says to “think big.”
We left the ducks at Cheddar Gorge; one on the roof of a car belonging to West Country Ales, the second at the Cheddar Gorge Cheese Company, and the third on the windowsill at the Fortes cafe. The first and third were gone within half an hour, so I’m hoping for big things.

If you see one of my ducks, do get in touch!

What? Wednesday - Clark's Village, Street

I have been shamed into branching out from my admittedly rather dull post-it notes for this week’s What? Wednesday at Mammasaurus.  And having heard that Mamma’s entry last week on the pier got the first response from a real live person, I thought it’s high time.
So, this week I have some paper babies with all my contact details, and you can see them now on the fort  in the children’s play area at Clark’s Outlet Village in Street, Somerset.

What? Wednesday - Chatty Baby In Pole Position

Wednesday again.  The weeks are flying by!  It’ll be Christmas before you know it!  Hurrah!
So, Mammasaurus has another What?Wednesday going on over here.  I have enlisted some of my family this week to help out  - Mummy, Grandma, and Auntie B – and they all drew a note.  The “winning” one is in reference to Jenson Button because the notes are stuck on mirrors in the loos in a pub in his home town, Frome.

What? Wednesday In The Otter Valley

What fun Mummy and I had today at Otter Nurseries in Ottery St Mary!  They have their beautiful Christmas displays up, and now they have a lovely What? Wednesday note, too.
As usual, I’ve done a close up of the note  and then a photo of it in situ.

What? Wednesday

It’s mid-week mayhem over at Mammasaurus and another What? Wednesday.  I was really pleased with this week’s photo until the critical picture didn’t come out.  So you’ll just have to believe it was there.
The first shot is a close-up of the note, and the second is a shot of where I put it, but too far out for you to see.  The shot I’m missing is of the note stuck to Baby’s waist on the big poster beside the door.

What? Wednesday

Here we are, Wednesday again, and my favourite meme of them all!  What? Wednesday!
My first photo shows the note up close, and the second is where I stuck it – the all new parents’ board at my local Tesco.  Not much else going on for them at the moment in these parts!

What? Wednesday

Wednesday’s here already!  That can only mean one thing – the What?Wednesday meme!  Here’s my entry for the week.  A close up first, then the post-it stuck to a poster at a Tube station.  All aboard!

What? Wednesday

So, Wednesday is here for another week and this time I have stealthily posted my note for the Mammasaurus What? Wednesday meme on the Paddington Bear stall at Paddington station. Sneaky. It looks like I’m wearing a massive Jamiroquai-style Paddington Bear hat! I really must learn to draw, but hey, I’m only little.
You’ll probably just about make out the note in the second picture, stuck to a lovely blankie set in the middle.

What? Wednesday!

Fear not, I remembered it was Wednesday in the nick of time!   We’re all on holiday this week so all the days are merging into one, but I remembered while we were out today.  I’m afraid my image is a little weak, and technically it’s not a post-it note (it’s on the back of our receipt) but I’m with you, Mammasaurus!
So, a quick explanation – the first picture is a close-up of my note.  Feeble, as I said. The second is it in situ, in the cow-shed cafe at Tyntesfield House, a National Trust property near Bristol. The tables are all in the old stalls, and some of the feeding ‘furniture’ is still there.  This is what the cows would have eaten their hay from.

What? Wednesday

It's the inaugural What? Wednesday meme over at Mammasaurus today. The idea is, you draw yourself a picture on a Post-It note (other sticky notes are available) with your blog URL, and then you stick it somewhere. Anywhere. So, here's my picture, and below, a photo of it in the baby aisle at Morrisons because they're having a baby event at the moment and I thought other mummies and babies needed to know about my blog.  A bit of a giggle :)
